First crew flew drone weeks after it landed, no sign. There does appear to be tracks in cut soybean field. Second crew, second drone flight, searched the area again, no sign in trees or anywhere. Going to take this off the board and mark this as recovered by farmer or hunters.

We’re going to mark this as recovered. Very young wheat field. It would’ve have been easily spotted with the drone. If it had landed in field and got blown across the road, someone would have picked it up. If it got blown into field, it would have landed in the ditch. We talked to owner and said she hadn’t seen it, but if she has, she would call us.

First crew went and talked to owner and asked permission. Very old lady and said there was nothing out there and closed the door. Second crew went out and happened to catch son who lived next door to owner. He takes care of her and her dog. He said it’s okay. On return out of the field, he said that she is a very old woman and doesn’t talk to anybody. She doesn’t know you, she would just close the door before you could even say hi. And I think I just found a new home for $250 diesel tank I had no use for.

Recovery report: The weather sonde was located after a tough climb through steep trails and large holes. It had spent the winter tangled in its cord near the ridge. Despite the terrain and mud, the mission was completed successfully and the sonde was recovered.
