About a week ago, I was passing this property on my way home from another recovery in the area. I had printed up flyers stating that I recovered weather balloons and one had landed on their property. I left one in the mailbox at the road. Today I received a call from the landowner and he said I was welcome to come and look.When I arrived he greeted me outside and said he had scouted the field a bit and found nothing. I had gotten exact gps position the morning the sonde landed.He offered a ride out in his ATV and I spotted the sonde right where it should have been. I think this flyer idea may work in cases where no one is home.

Found this sonde 4 days after it was launched by using the coordinates I saved after it touched down: 39.29899, -83.06302. Has to walk 3/4 mile each way across and open field. The orange parachute was easy to spot 1/2 mile away.
